I’m learning that in life there are several things that we have to do that we don’t feel like doing. I understand that this is the human emotions and feelings that we all experience but I now think of it in a different perspective. The Christian journey is not easy. I’ve definitely learned that the hard way! But one thing that I now understand is that doing things that we don’t feel like doing teach us to be obedient. I believe that God uses our daily obligations to structure us into the right direction. If we don’t follow down the path that he directs us, we suffer the consequences. For example, taxes has always been an obligation all the way back into the bible days. This is something that no one can run away from. If you run away, you suffer the consequences of not paying your taxes, right? Well, I think that is exactly how it goes. Even though we don’t feeling like doing something conviction, a moral conscience, and most of all the Holy Spirit directs us to do the right thing. It is up to us to make that choice and do the right or wrong thing. God gives us choices in life to do right or wrong, to love him or not, and to follow him or follow other things of the world. It is up to us to make the decision. So, the next time you don’t feel like doing something, think of it this way. God is using this situation as a teaching mechanism to direct me into the path of obedience.
